Register Geotastic once
In ArcGIS, go to Content, New item, Developer credentials, OAuth 2.0 credentials. Add the Geotastic redirect URL. Give Geotastic the Client ID. It does not need the client secret.

Staff sign in with ArcGIS. Their accounts wait on the People page until you approve them.

Start with one team

Does Geotastic see ArcGIS passwords?
No. People sign in on your organization's own ArcGIS page. ArcGIS then gives Geotastic a token through OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Geotastic keeps tokens on its server, sends them to ArcGIS only in the body of POST requests, and renews them automatically. When a person signs out of their last session, Geotastic deletes their tokens and revokes them at ArcGIS.
What does the AI model receive?
The model receives the question, each dataset's description, and its column names and types with one sample value. It also receives what the program prints, such as results and error messages. The full layers stay on the Geotastic server, where the AI-written program reads them. ArcGIS tokens never go to the model.
Where is our data stored?
Your layers stay in ArcGIS. For each question, Geotastic downloads a copy to its server on AWS, in the us-east-2 Region (Ohio, USA). Geotastic encrypts its backups and keeps them in the same Region.
How long do you keep our data?
Geotastic deletes the layers that it downloads when the question is complete. It keeps the full data of each step for 7 days and the map layers for Shapefile export for 30 days. The answer stays until a person deletes the question, so you can keep it as a record. Backups keep copies for 30 days.
Can the AI make a mistake?
Yes. The AI can pick the wrong column or the wrong method. For this reason, Geotastic shows the plan, the code of each step and the data between the steps. A person can check each one before they use the answer. Export the notebook to run the analysis again.
Which AI model answers?
The model that your organization chooses. Geotastic works with any LLM that has an OpenAI-compatible API. You set how much the AI reasons before each step, and you can raise or lower that level for one difficult question.
How can we check an answer?
Every answer shows its plan, the code of each step, the data in between and each run of the program. Export the Jupyter notebook to rerun the analysis yourself, or open the Shapefile of a map in ArcGIS Pro.
Does it work with ArcGIS Enterprise?
Yes. Register Geotastic in your Enterprise portal as OAuth 2.0 developer credentials. People then sign in with their portal accounts, and private layers on your Enterprise servers work under each person's own access.
Who can use it?
Anyone in your ArcGIS organization can sign in to ask for access. Only the people that you approve can use Geotastic. Each person sees only their own data, questions and servers.
